My earliest memories took place in the kitchen—apron on, rubber spatula in hand, YouTube tutorial in the background.

As a Chinese Canadian, I was taught two culinary worlds: Asian and Western. But those labels never fit my dinner table.

At 12, I started uploading my own videos to YouTube with recipes blending the cultures that shaped me.

I called it “Jasma Fusion Cuisine”.

6M views, 130K subscribers, and 200 videos later, I discovered I wasn't alone in feeling caught between two worlds.

This was my first lesson in strategy: people desire to feel seen in the culture they consume.

I didn’t want to just consume culture, I wanted to contribute to it. I’ve loved doing so through food.

Now I want to shape culture beyond my little corner of the internet.
